The Vauxhall history....

Company history

Founded in London where the first of many classic vehicles rolled off the production line, Vauxhall celebrated its centenary in 2003, and continues to be at the forefront of British motor engineering.

The world's biggest private collection of classic Vauxhalls is housed at the Vauxhall Heritage centre, located near to the company's headquarters in Luton. The impressive collection features an array of vehicles, from the very first 1903 two-seat 5 horsepower Vauxhall through to modern classics such as the Lotus Carlton. The Heritage Centre is also home to family favourites from yesteryear such as the PA Cresta, Viva and every generation of Cavalier.

Many of these models have become the focus for enthusiasts who have formed clubs and associations. While these groups are mostly run by volunteers, they are highly organised and professional. In addition, the Vauxhall Convertible Car Club, Viva Owners Club, Droop Snoot News and the Victor & Bedford Owners Club, to name a few, all produce their own quarterly club magazines.

If you're interested in acquiring a classic vehicle, then Vauxhall Heritage services will help you get in touch with the right people, so you can find the right car.

And this might also interest you - the Vauxhall Heritage Centre holds an annual Open Day, giving visitors an opportunity to view over 50 classic Vauxhall models completely free of charge.
