MOT test extension for 6 months

If your car’s MOT is due on or after 30th March 2020, the Government has announced a 6 month extension during the Covid-19 pandemic. But you must ensure your car is safe to drive.

What do I need to do?

You vehicle's MOT expiry will automatically be extended by 6 months, there's nothing you need to do to extend your expiry date. This means that your car will have a valid MOT certificate for 6 months.

Keep your vehicle roadworthy

During the extension it is your responsibility to ensure your vehicle is safe to drive and kept in a roadworthy condition. This includes checking your vehicle's key components as well as your tyres.
